Tait Simpson was born in Eugene, Oregon and raised in Los Angeles surrounded by the film industry. He is currently based in Brooklyn, NY making images that depict a simple beauty in the mundane. Tait has been making images since the age of 12 when he received a PXL-2000 video camera as a birthday gift from his uncle. The lens observes and subtly manipulates our gaze: depicting an elegant view of the world around us that often goes unnoticed. Whether the image contains traces of a past, or some hint at a future, they always have an unmistakable sense of story and the intangibility of a moment in time. Among those who have commissioned work are MasterCard, Toto, Reebok, McCann Erickson, Drifter Clothing and DBLA. His work has also appeared in Interior Design, Dcasa (Italy), Architectural Record, Fraction Magazine, Icon, WWD, Metropolis, Rangefinder, Metro.Pop, 944, Frank151 and Six Degrees. |
